It was a bit depressing at times, but it was also inspirational in ways and the story certainly pulled me in. I think Brooklyn deserves a real Hero.ĭid she get one in this book? I am not going to tell. With her mother dying, then her uncle, then her psychotic half sister tormenting her, and her mobbed up father who is just as crazy as Isabell. I still think he is unworthy of Brooklyn, especially considering all that happened to her. However, I did start to like Matt a bit more in the last book, but I liked him for Kennedy. His reasoning that he was protecting his best friend James from the truth was stupid to say the least and his treatment of Brooklyn was far from stellar. I thought he was weak in that he kept Brooklyn a secret for a long time because he was being blackmailed by Isabelle. It is sixteen years until she gets back to her friends. Before she could do anything to make up with Matt, her father basically stole her Kidney.Īll her friends think she died, her father is a monster who tricked her into signing a contract to give him her Kidney, and is now hiding her away supposedly for her own good, while just about everyone she knows believes her to be dead.
They played a prank on Brooklyn’s psychotic half-sister Isabelle and Matt left saying she had gone too far. I will give away a bit about where the previous books left off, so if you haven’t read them yet, you may want to skip this review.īrooklyn Sanders was in love with Matthew Caldwell and they got in a fight because she was hanging out with the Hunter Brothers in an attempt to get them to let go of old hostilities against Matt and be best friends again. I am doing this review in a bit of a different format than I usually do since I don’t want to give too much away about this story.
